Course description
A practitioner-focused, hands-on course that shows you how to design, implement, and sustain an Environmental Management System (EMS) that reduces risk, improves compliance, and drives measurable environmental performance. We cover the PDCA backbone, identifying environmental aspects and impacts with a life-cycle lens, understanding compliance obligations, managing risk and opportunity, setting objectives and programs; operational controls (including contractors and change management), emergency preparedness and response; competence and communication; monitoring and measurement, internal auditing, management review; and continual improvement. Includes practical tools, templates, and Canadian/BC context for permitting, waste, spills, and reporting.
What you’ll learn

- Build EMS procedures and documented information that are lean and auditable
