This course provides comprehensive guidance on applying ISO 19600:2014, the international standard for establishing, developing, implementing, evaluating, maintaining, and improving a Compliance Management System (CMS). Based on the principles of good governance, proportionality, transparency, and sustainability, ISO 19600 helps organizations proactively manage legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance obligations. We cover the PDCA backbone, identifying environmental aspects and impacts with a life-cycle lens, understanding compliance obligations, managing risk and opportunity, setting objectives and programs; operational controls (including contractors and change management), emergency preparedness and response; competence and communication; monitoring and measurement, internal auditing, management review; and continual improvement. Includes practical tools, templates, and Canadian/BC context for permitting, waste, spills, and reporting.
