This course offers a practical guide to implementing ISO 3834-2, the leading standard for comprehensive quality control of fusion welding of metallic materials. Participants will learn how to establish rigorous welding quality processes covering design review, welding procedure specification, personnel qualification, material traceability, equipment control, non-destructive testing (NDT), and documentation. The training emphasizes how to manage welding as a “special process” to ensure consistent reproducibility, safety, and reliability of welded products. By completing the course, organizations will be equipped to meet stringent industrial and regulatory requirements, enhance product integrity, and demonstrate welding competence to customers and certifying bodies.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Understand the structure, scope, and purpose of ISO 3834 and the specific requirements of Part 2.
Identify and implement key welding quality requirements (e.g. personnel competence, procedures, inspection).
Define roles of responsible welding coordinators and required qualifications.
Establish control over welding activities from design to final inspection.
Develop welding procedure specifications (WPS), qualification records (WPQR), and welder qualifications.
Integrate ISO 3834-2 into existing quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Manage documentation, traceability, and quality records for welding activities.
Prepare for ISO 3834-2 audits, certifications, and compliance with regulatory/industry codes.
Apply the standard to both in-house and subcontracted welding activities.
Build a roadmap for implementing a certified welding quality system.

This course provides a structured approach to understanding and applying the requirements of ISO 22000:2018 for developing a robust Food Safety Management System (FSMS). It combines theoretical principles with practical tools to help you design, document, and implement an FSMS that ensures safe food practices, manages risks, and meets customer and regulatory expectations. All activities are mapped to clauses 4–10 of the standard, enabling participants to build systems that support hazard control, compliance, and continual improvement.
